Anyone traveling from Boston, Philadelphia, or DC check out the Bolt Bus... 10$ ticket + free wifi (& outlets) for your computer... great, easy ride, no hassle of tolls, gas, parking, etc... comes right into Penn Station

Umm....is that a bus from those cities? I'm coming in on the train thru Phila.....

It would make sense just to stay put, right?

I'll be driving down from Boston and have room for 1 or 2 more, if anyone wants to join me.

:( Being a college student is no fun! 200+ $ I just can't swallow... I looked up the prices for airlines and 190 without tax was the cheapest. Guess I will just have to wait until one is closer to me! :)

If there's any broke people out there let me know if you find a cheap hotel!

For those flying, it's usually cheaper to combine a flight WITH a hotel. I did a search for fun and the savings were significant. Still don't know if I'm coming alone or with my son (who some of you know). I might even fly into a town and drive part of the way with somebody. Still up in the air. :)

<<<<<<<<< this guy just managed to get a room at the Portland Hotel at Times Square and is ever so glad he will be able to meet a bunch of other DPC members.

See you there.

PS: Anyone from the Ottawa area wishing to get a ride there, please PM me. I intend to leave fairly early Friday morning and come back on Sunday.

Penny and I are sad and happy to report that we've agreed to do the charter in the British Virgin Islands with yakatme this summer, and this means we won't be making the NYC GTG this year. One vacation a summer is about it for us :-(

Just can't turn down the chance to spend 10 days sailing tropical waters in a 42-foot sloop :-)

Hopefully we'll catch up with most of y'all sooner rather than later...

I got your message Robert and am truly saddened that you can't make it to NYC for the GTG and I know that I for one (of many) will sadly miss your presence.

Have a wonderful sailing trip and do take oodles of photos.

Looking forward to seeing you soon... I hope.

Looks like I'm going to be able to come WITH my son. He's a cool kid and many of you know him already. I wonder if MaryO still wants to be my roommate. LOL I figure we can book a larger room with a fold out couch. I'm getting excited now!!

I'm not sure about the bus. I am pretty confident in Amtrak. $35 each way to and from Philly-NYC

I wish i could go. If it was July it would be ok, but June is a little tough for me. There's the part of the money too, but i think i would keep some coins here for that, which i think it's amazing. I would probabbly buy a D90 in that ocasion too. And i would have a lot of teachers close to me!
That would be so crazy and nice! I would probabbly be the only guy from south america too. hehehe

I know I haven't participated much on dp for a while, but I live within 2 hours of NYC. I would love to meet you, especially Jutilda. Is it okay if I add my name to the list? I would be coming in via train from New Haven. Wouldn't stay overnight, I don't think, but I might be talked into it. Might be getting a new Sony (Alpha 550) and a few lenses. Anybody got any suggestions on what are the best all purpose lenses for the city? And Steve, it is wonderful that you took on this. I have always admired your work, and I still love The Boys Are Back In Town. One of your best.

Hi June,

I'm not familiar with the line of Sony lenses. So looking at the lenses in your line up. The Sony 18-70mm and Sony 75-300mm will offer the full range. If I had to bring one it'd be the 18-70.

I will no longer be able to attend the NYC GTG. It looks like a great time, meeting all my cyber buddies, but real life is getting in the way on this one...

As long as we are very clear that I am not going to be the one on the couch ;-)
