I know the month is coming to an end... but there is no reason the side challenge must end! I propose that anyone who wishes to continue to share their wildlife images use this thread to do so. Everyone feel free to post as often or as little as you want.
Object: Share wildlife images with users of similar interests
Rules:
- No zoo shots or pets. All animals (or bugs) must be of their own free will.
-Try to enter 1 photo per week but no more than 1 photo per day. No date restrictions. Scanned film images are accepted and welcomed. Previous challenge entries are acceptable.
-Include camera settings with each photo. This is intended to help others learn.
-Please comment on other's photos.
-Critiques should be helpful and those receiving critiques should have a thick skin.
This thread should be used for posting of images. This thread should also be used for all discussion of techniques/equipment/post processing relating to wildlife photography.

hahahaha i suppose i'm in :P
it'll give me a chance to work out the new 400mm f/5.6, well that is when i get my camera back from being fixed |

Oooh, sweet! You should come out to Virginia so we can shoot the same subject. I've love to see how the fixed length compares to the 100-400 at full zoom. I assume yours would blow mine out of the water...

I am thinking about doing this SC, but on a limited basis, maybe one or two days per week. S C's tend to wear me out because I stay up late commenting on the images.

i don't think it would blow it out of the water, but it is super sharp. i just added a couple shots to my portfolio i took with it this weekend. i'd post them, but i don't want scottie coming after me :P
one is the shot of a gull standing on the jetty and the other is one of a gull in flight. if you like, i'd be happy to send you the original of either or both so you can see what they look like before resizing and the tiny bit of sharpening i did... or maybe even easier, i can upload a small 100% resolution section of the pic.. i'll do that in a little bit :)

Yours broke too?? What is it with these 40D's? I'll be interested like vawendy to see how your images compare to what the 100-400 gets.

yep. the infamous and quite perplexing 'err 99' of course, all the suggested fixes on the internet didn't work, so i'm sending it out tomorrow.
ah what the heck, i'll edit this post later if scottie gets mad ;) i want to show off at least something i shot, and since i might be out of a camera for awhile, it can't hurt, right?
