Crazy that two people mark it as a favorite & others give it a 1 or 2. I really don't get it. It's not a bad picture... some people might not "get it" like I do, but come on voters! Ones and even twos should be substandard photography... where it's clear the photographer either didn't even try or has zero talent. I don't even think I have ever given a two or below (just a very few threes). Will they ever require a comment for 1s or 2s? Will it prevent people from hastily voting like this? I can't imagine how someone could justify a 1 or even 2 on my entry.

I can only imagine that some people are confused over the voting system
so as a refresher...

1= BAD
10=GOOD

Most of us agree. There are a handful of people for whom that is normal vote, and I understand their reasoning. This challenge seems to be getting a lot of 1's dished out however, and when I was voting, I only dished out two 3's and a 4 (with explanatory comments) out of 27 votes.

Totally agree with you... a comments is always helpful to all...especially for low score...
Best of all, if you take part in that challenge think before you punch the keyboard...
BTW a single low votes will not harm us but is that what you want???

Yes I absolutely agree and it's through comments and interaction in these forums that, IMO, we gain most of that knowledge.

In addition to learning we are also here for fun, and part of the fun is the chase so when someone starts voting 1s and 2s for reasons other than
image quality and fit to challenge then it detracts from that enjoyment a little.

Sadly, my 100th vote was a 4. My last 5 votes were 8, 8, 3, 4 & 4, which averages 5.4, which is pretty much where I am right now after 100 votes.

I do wonder why people who's average votes cast is well below 5.0 bother coming to a site where the majority of photos are below average (according to them, that is.)

Some people have different criteria, and though a 4-ish voting average is low, it is still within norms. If someone has a 2 or 3 voting average, it is certainly their right to vote as they see fit, but I do question if there is something odd going on.

I do expect the scrubber will give many of us a nice bump upwards at rollover of this challenge.

Getting into the zone where I am pleased with my score. Maybe I have lower standards than the rest of you, but I think anything over a 5 1/2 is doing well for something that is an average of differing opinions.

Between this and my tunnels score, my site average is now at a new all-time high. If I can just resist the temptation to enter one of my ridiculous and low scoring gag shots, maybe it can stay there.
