Thought I would start a thread for fireworks. Share your images from July, 2009. No old images, just this years. Who will be the first to post? First one doesn't have to leave a comment.

Taken last evening, Canada Day. The fog rolled in and obscured some of the fireworks.

Bump. Here is one I took the other night. It is hard to get shots unless you are on contiuous advance. I used shutter priority at 1/125 of a sec, iso of 1600.

Here's a fireworks finale I created from 12 individual fireworks shots. I think it turned out kind of neat. It uses a seldom-used blending mode to pull it off. I wrote a tutorial on how to do it. PM me if you want it.

I am still waiting until, Dr. Achoo to come over... Oh, wait, you mean leave a comment about our photo? Or the person above us?

I was looking for a place to park some firework photos. Hope they're "ok" in here? I'll come back around and comment soon. :-)

All shot in Manual mode, lens to infinity, bulb shutter with remote.

Nice shots this year. I hope to be adding a few more, though I must admit that my first mistake of going without a tripod, then my second mistake of using ISO 1600 did not create the best images.

A little different perspective...I live in a mountain community and they shoot fireworks off the dam of a lake. This is taken from a deck looking down on the lake and fireworks.

I’d like to share the story of my attempt at shooting Chicago’s fireworks.

For those of you familiar with the city, a friend of mine has an apartment on Clarke St. just north of North Ave. For those of you not familiar with the city, that’s more than 2 miles from where they shoot’em off with lots of tall buildings in between. The building had flyers posted in all the public areas to come watch the Fireworks from the deck on the 44th floor. I told my friend that we were not going to see much from there, but he insisted. So here is my 2009 fireworks shot. Yes there are fireworks in there.

On the way to a much larger display in a bordering town, I stopped to "warm up" by shooting the local town fireworks display, already in progress. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out later that the larger display was actually being held at the *same time* :( (their website had bad info), so this was the only display I got to shoot...

Full gallery of my favorite shots from the night.

This comes up every-so-often. On the series of buttons above the post box, there is an "insert image" button that looks like a mini-landscape (not what you want) and an "insert thumbnail link to site image" button that looks like two small boxes; almost like a bracket-exposure symbol (you want that one). If you're inserting the code by hand (or just to spot check it), you want the code:
[ thumb ] xxxxxx [ /thumb ] (without the spaces, where xxxxxx = the image ID of the photo...
NOT the code:
[ img ] http... [ /img ] (without the spaced, where the url is the url to the image you're including.

For example, for your image ID 805425, we get:

You can edit your original post and fix the links very easily (which would be appreciated, I'm sure). ;)

We sat on the Virginia side of the Potomac to watch the show over the National Mall in Washington DC. 1.6 sec exposure, f/11, ISO 100. The rest of my shots from this show are here.
