Pitchman, Billy Mays, dies at 50

Just saw it on the news

Wow... that's bizarre. He's from our area, and I hadn't heard that yet. I may have actually bought a cleaning product from him personally at a home show in Pittsburgh before he was a star pitchman years ago.

AND THATS NOT ALL...........call in the next twenty minutes and I'll give you the run down on who is going to die next and I'll double the information, you just pay additional shipping and processing fees.

Wow sad infomercials will never be the same.

Your sense of humour leaves a lot to be desired.

I met him two times on accident. If you ever met him you would know he too would be finding a way to pitch this into a way to make money. He was the perennial pitchman.

I thought it was hilarious :) Then again, I've always thought death was a reason to look for humor, not stifle it.

I used to refuse to buy anything pitched by Billy Mays because I hated the way he yelled at me. Then I started watching "Pitchmen" and saw the softer side of Billy. I admittedly became endeared to him. Now I am truly saddened by his sudden death.

I think it's the rapture and the celebs get priority.

Sheesh, one star dies and everyone has to jump on the bandwagon.

I guess that he saw how much publicity Michael Jackson's death produced and he just couldn't pass up his chance to capitalize on it too. Kidding of course.

I had his show Pitchmen on this morning and was saddened to hear of his death.

Billy Mays was a real person? I thought he was a character on Bob&Tom...or am I thinking Bill Amazing? And he was 50, as was MJ, so all you celebs approaching the big 5-0, watch yourselves...

I'm not sure if the wart removal potion would actually be classified and a cleaning product.

I was just reading on TMZ (imagine how their page hits have sky-rocketed in the past week) that Billy Mays was on a plane that landed badly yesterday afternoon, a front tyre blew out. As it landed something fell out of an overhead bin and whacked him on the head.

Curious.

I DVR Pitchmen and watch it every week since it started and I also grew to like him a lot. He was a genuinely good guy. I felt a lot more shock and sadness from this news than all the others.
