Seriously I am still sick about what I am about to say, and it's been almost two weeks. I was on a shoot, and LEFT A LENS. I guess I got distracted and totally walked away from my lens. I still can't believe what a moronic action that was.

Now on to my quest. I can't find a replacement for this lens to save my life. I have my equipment insured for stupid mistakes like this thankfully. However, I have searched high and low and can't find it anywhere. Wait I did find it at Best Buy for $500.00 more than list. Ritz Camera has also upped their price to about $400.00 above list. Anyone have any ideas of where else I can look? I've checked BandH, Ritz, Best Buy, Cameta, local joints like Click, and Cord. Any opinions? No opinions on my stupidity, I feel like a complete moron about this, and don't need any help. Looking at buying the Boda Bag now because I don't like carrying my huge bag and want something I can change out lenses pretty easily.

I'll even call someone else's local camera shop and have them FedEx it to me. I have a wedding next weekend, and actually another shoot tomorrow that I NEED this lens for. It is my workhorse, in conjunction with my 70-200 2.8.

Have I mentioned how much of an idiot I feel like over this?!?1?

Oh while mentioning Ritz, they don't actually HAVE the lens, it's backordered like everyone else.

Stupid question: Did you go back and look for your lens after you realized it was missing?

If worse comes to worse, you can get the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 shipped immediately for a fraction of the cost of the 24-70mm... It's optically in the same ballpark as the 24-70, and has a lot of very satisfied users in DPC. You should be able to turn it around and sell it for 75% or so of the price you paid when the 24-70 is finally in your hands...

I know this isn't an optimal solution for you, but it might help you with your upcoming shoot if all other avenues fail.

Thanks guys. I drove 3 hours one way to get this lens. I'm just glad to have it back in my hands. Bear, I did think about getting a Tamron lens and would have if I hadn't finally found it today. Thank godness!
