From the Iphone apps reviews, they are stating that you have to have a server on your Windows or Mac computer and the camera has to be plugged into the computer in order for this to work.
The idea is neat, however I dont know how practical this is. |

Well, the server software is a free download that's part of this application (and understandably necessary). I can see using something like this for astronomy, wildlife or unusual angles. Set it up next to a birdhouse or salt lick and shoot from inside the house. Run the camera and a long cable up a flagpole and see through the viewfinder from the ground. It seems like there are lots of interesting possibilities. |

Just make sure you disguise it well when you set it to peek into the neighbours' windows. |

| yesterday I was trying to work out if I could trigger a pocket wizard in sync with the iPhone camera. API is a bit crappy when it comes to using the hardware though. |

When I first saw this a few days ago I thought it would remote fire the camera from the iPhone wihtout the camera having to be tethered to a computer. That alone would be pretty cool.
I might give it a try.
What is the max length USB cable can you use to connect the camera? Being tethered really limits the possibilities. |

I think the max is 15feet without an inline booster but I thought I saw something that you can go USB->Cat6->USB and get greater distances and still keep up signal strength...
ETA** Here is what I was thinking of
ETAA** Here's another option that maintains USB2.0 and you can add up to 5 cables I believe...
