I stopped by the Civil War Reenactment in Spotsylvania, VA today and got a couple decent pics. I would add descriptions to the images, but I really don't know anything about the actual battle... Let me know what you think, thanks!

I really like the second one. Any ideas why they do a re-enactment? just curious

To tell the truth, I don't really understand it myself...I guess for historical preservation. My uncle participated in this reenactment and tried to recruit me...I declined. This is one of many reenactments that are organized annually. The Spotsylvania battle in particular was important in the Union drive to capture Richmond (the former capitol of the Confederacy).

I grew up near a major Civil War battleground...it was fascinating history, but I never understood the unending reenactments.
