1130 photographs from DPChallenge.com[s] 1000th Challenge combined into one photograph montage.

I didn't know what I was getting into when I took on this project. It took over 40 hours (off and on) to complete. I wanted to give up several times trying to get aspect ratios correct and making every photograph fit but I had put to much into it to abandon. I'm glad I didn't, IMO, the finished product looks great. The full size picture is 24x18 inches at almost 200 dpi. I printed a sample and it looks great; i must say.

So here it is and what do you think.

Scott, Awesome job. Love the placement of my Froggy! You should take another 40 hours and move the shots around a bit and spell DPC. (Just kidding)

I've always found photo-collages interesting. Great work and dedication putting everything together like you have. On a semi-related topic, does anybody know how people assemble an image out of the collage through arrangement?

That is an amazing effort!

But, wouldn't you have to have permission from every photographer to use, let alone print, their images in such a way? Just wondering.

Had I entered, I'd be happy to give you permission for mine, (I didn't) but... just wondered about copyright issues here.

Love it! What a spectacular job!

(I see mine! Woo Hoo!)

ETA: Consider this my blanket permission, and blessing, to use my image to shamelessly promote DP Challenge in this way.

Yes, If I was to put the project up at DPC Prints I would have to have permission from all 1130 photographers. Even thought the collage only consist of the thumbnails of each photograph the photographer owns the rights to his or her photograph in whole or part any any likeness thereof. I would like to be able to put on DPC Prints ONLY if everyone photographer granted me permission.

Thank you for a good question and thank you for your comment.

My permission as well, this is fantastic. Is there an official place where we have to get our permission to you? I'd love to have a print of this one day.

And here I was with my chest out after making 1100+ comments!
Sort of pales into insignificance after seeing this herculean effort.
Great patience Scott, love your work!

If any of the photographers wish to give me permission to user there photographs thumbnail in this collage they can PM me through DPChallenge.com.

All you have to do is fill in the following and copy/paste in your PM. If all photographers give me permission then I will put place it on DPC Prints.

I,___________________, give Scott Whiddon the right to use my photograph [ID#_______]entered in DPChallenge.com[s] 1000th challenge [challenge_ID=1005]. Both parties agree that my photograph identified above can only be used in its thumbnail size (approximately 120 x 120 pixels), which may be resized to help align the collage project. Furthermore both parties agree and understand this release does not in any manner give Scott Whiddon the right to use my photograph in its original size or give [him] the right to use my photograph thumbnail or its likeness in any other manner other than the purpose of this project [Project Name: 1000th Challenge Collage] and only gives [him] permission to post a web version of the project at DPChallenge.com and DPCPrints.com along with a print version for sale at DPCPrints.
