Because of someone posting to an old thread tonight, it opened my eyes to the interviews that had been done in the past on photographers on DPC.

Sadly, it seems that it's a feature that has gone the way of the dodo.

I consider this to be unfortunate, as there seems to be a very large number of new personalities here on DPC that aren't in that interview list that I would love to get to know better through such interviews.

So what do you say? Let's bring them back!

Any volunteers to take some time to interview some people? Heck, if someone simply got me a really decent question list, I'd be happy to interview people myself! (I just suck at trying to come up with good questions).

Let's feed off the energy of the 1000th challenge here and get a new batch of photographers up on that list.

I would love to see some more interviews up there! Really enjoyable to read about the people whose images you see so often.

Some general questions:

Why do you do photography? What do you expect from it? What do you give to it?
Do you pay more attention to the technique or to the theme/message/story? Why?
Why do you choose the topic that you choose?
Who is your teacher? Where do you get the inspiration?
When is a photo finished? When does it start?
Which pieces of art do you like? Why? If you had to take only one with you in a lonely island, which would be it?
How good do you think you are? <- this is my favourite question.
If you'd have the chance to do something else instead of photography, what would it be?
Which famous person, dead or alive, would you like to photograph? In what setting? Which event from world history would you have liked to have photographed?
You're offered a choice: a bottle of very good wine or a photo camera; what do you choose? Why? What would you choose instead of a camera?

There would be other questions, of course, specific to each photographer.

I find it interesting that "someone" registered a new account, found one old thread to "bump" that same day, and hasn't looked at any photos, voted, or made any comments.

Things that make you go hmmmm...

I can supply the html "template" that make it very easy for Langdon to slap the interview into the DPC format with minimal backend work on his part. He really appreciates it!

A hack!

Way back when, I was to be the subject of an interview (I think by strangeghost) but procrastinated it to death as I somehow felt I wasn't ready to be interviewed or some damn thing. If anyone's still interested in seeing an interview of me, I nominate K10Dguy to conduct the interview. if he wants to put his money where his inclinations lie :-) I think that'd be a fun one, LOL.

Procrastination? I felt like a paparazzi and was given the boot!

I see the first of the DPC Interviews was with jmsetzler. He hasn't been active for awhile, but if you look at his profile there's a recent message stating his intent to get re-involved with DPC. Very cool.

Good list and I think it would be a good idea if we also thought about our own answers to these...the last one is a toughie...

You know I thought about his a while ago but just never mentioned anything about it. I too would like to see photographer interviews back in the mix.
