Looking to offer stock photos for a national travel magazine. The cost of travel is neglible and the only thing I'm looking at is my time and stock photos. Looks like they buy one time use and simultaneous submissions is okay. These are landscape style shots. My question is approximately how much would you consider charging or photo?

As a side note, the work is not done yet. Getting the good stuff out the way early so I go into with an idea number.

Thank you

Go to www.alamy.com Do a search for similar photos and see what they sell for. Or send them into one of the dollar stock companies and make .30 cents for each time they sell. So depending on what you have, they can sell between $1.00 to several hundred dollars each. And yes, Alamy does sell lots of high priced photos still. Good luck.

It's no longer true that you only get 30 cents for every sale on microstock. I've had anything up to $28 for a single sale. Okay, even at that rate you have to sell a lot to make good money, but some people do.

Sounds to me like albc28 is more interested in the macro sites though.

Actually I shouldn't really use stock. There is no stock site involved. The magazine contacted me directly asking if I have any of these photos. I didn't but I just so happen to be driving through the area they are looking for this weekend and said that I can shoot the shots they need. So once I have the photos I want to know how much to charge. I may check alamy. That actually sounds like a great idea.

I would check on alamy and pretend you are the buyer and see how much they would charge for an image you are talking about and then tell the magazine that price.

It is quite different if you can sell the image afterwords as stock or if they are wanting full exclusive rights to the image.
