Hi Konrad
Its not too late to join this is it.
Have been flat out the last few months. Have photos taken but have not had time to edit.
In the next week I should be able to get to them, edit one for Jan, Feb and March, and also get to some comments as well........

Re: Side CHallenges

Just wanted to throw some thoughts your way that I've had lately about side challenges and see what y'all think. Taking part in side challenges is great but I'm afraid it's a little like living in a fantasy world because people rarely say anything negative or "speak the truth" to put it bluntly. I think some of us, myself included, cling to these places like safe little havens because they give us a secure feeling about our work. Whereas when we submit images to the regular challenges we get beaten down by the masses. The side challenges are definitely a good place to learn new techniques and improve our skills but they are not necessarily a good borometer for what will do well in the regular challenges. The only way to improve that would be for all of us to be more critical and upfront in our analysis of eachothers' work in the sides. Sure, everyone likes to see lots of positive comments on their images but if it isn't helping us to improve or better analyze the quality of our work, it's futile. Agree?

I think you have a point. There are few post in this thread were suggestions were made and reworks were performed. More of that would be very helpful.

I don't know about anyone else...but it seems that this challenge is slowly dieing....I keep cking for more photos and haven't seen very many...I know that everyone is busy...but it is always a treat to see that another shot is loaded for us to see...personally I am enjoying seeing the various shots...every time that I see one I ask myself...would "I buy that on/in a calendar?" I am hoping to see some more posts....

Hi Janine.. I, for one, am in kind of a funk lately.. partly due to the in-between seasons but I desperately need a fresh approach and a change of scenery. So, until I can manage to take the time to drive to the mts or the shore, I'm going to remain a sideliner.

Sorry for being late, but here is my March entry. Taken at the Valley of Fire park in Nevada near Vegas. We were on a 5100 km trek down there from Calgary, AB, Canada. Along with 500+ other MINIs.

Hi All
Have been going back and commenting on a number of these as I finally have some spare time. I also will be finding time int he next couple of days (hopefully) to hit my computer and dig out the Landscapes of the last few months. I have been shooting remembering this challenge, but just havn't had the time to PP the shots, so hopefully buy next week I will get a couple up.
Hopefully everyone has photos for April to get up here as well ad get this thread happening again

No boats or trees or clouds or birds... just some colorful sunsets and it's the best I can do right now, so enjoy!

I hope you don't mind, but this was such a pleasant scene (I'm a golfer...) that I felt compelled to tinker with the processing:

I am finally getting around to posting March's entry. I have been off DPC for a while and am just getting around to delivering on past commitments. Cheers and enjoy.

That's real sweet. Maybe a more square crop with a little less foreground? The fence is SO in the middle there...
