Tonight, I've been asked to take a photo of 4 generations of hands (hands only)

Can anyone share a unique posing of these hands that doesn't simply look like 4 hands on a table/lap??

Post examples if you have them???

Only idea I have is the one person holding the next wrist, etc...ultimately forming a circle....

I don't have an example but I would love to see an above angle shot looking down on a circle of hands but perhaps doing an every other hand type of circle. (Meaning grandma's hand then grandchild's hand than grandma's other hand) So all eight hands are in the middle but overlapping like the generations. Might not be what you end up with, but I think it could make a really cool shot and since you probably want to do several poses it won't hurt to try.

sounds intriguing....how are the hands place...i.e. flat/fingers pointed towards the middle??

I think I am confused on the "all eight hands are in the middle but overlapping like the generations".

Sorry if I'm being dense..

I saw a gorgeous shot, only 4 hands though not the 8.

they where laid one on top of the other with the smallest at the top, so point one straight, the next at an angle across the hand and then the small one on top. It was lovely.

Ideas from a search here:

These only use 2 hands/people but you could probably make them work with 4 hands:
