Hello,

Has anyone bought lights from //www.jensenbest.com, are they any good, looking for something cheap to practice at home.

Thanks

I've been through that whole search for E-bay type cheap lighting system. A lot of people i asked had nothing good to say about them. A lot of people also said they had difficulty replacing parts and the lights had a short life span. Myself will not buy even one of those lights. I would however buy the accessories like the reflectors, umbrellas lightstands and backdrops. And the $24 strobesstrobes to blow out the background.
I'm going alienbees and starting with the alienbees abr800 ringflash. I will get the b400 & b800 type strobes after. The ringflash i think will save on space and accessories while achieving high quality softlight.

I had a few Alien Bees for years, and used them all of three times... truly wonderful lights, but it was such a production to set them up and take them down. I sold them on Ebay in July and replaced them with a couple of Vivitar 285HVs. Now that setup is easier, I use artificial light much more often. Check out strobist.com to see what's possible with the humble flashgun.

I'm hoping to find someone who has tried Jensenbest as well. I've never had any lighting equipment and am looking for something to start out with. I would like to be able to shoot some family portraits. I hope somebody has bought something from them.

I bought this set up from them.

So far no problems. They shipped pretty quickly. I'd buy from them again.
