Dear All,

Looking at all the great nominations, I am requesting some of the senior members from amongst us to form a panel to help me make decisions.

Until then, please keep the nominations coming:-)

Thank you!

Update: 2 fellow senior members have accepted the request to be on the judge's panel. Waiting for 4 more to respond.

P.S. If you received a request message, please keep it a secret as we are planning not to disclose the judge's identity for transparency.

Update: We have 3 more positions open on the judges panel. If you would like to volunteer, please PM me. First come first, please:-)

Only 2 spots available now.

One last spot available on the panel.

Dear all,

The panel is now complete. We are just waiting for two acceptance messages and the next awards will be decided.

Thank you for your overwhelming response, you have been great!!

The judge's panel is an unbeatable combination of experience, warmth, technical excellence, and enthusiasm.

Happy winning everyone!!

You are welcome. You set an example for many to follow.

Shine the ribbon! :-)

I hope that you don't mind that I made the award smaller for my profile page.
I look forward to helping people at every opportunity, here and elsewhere as well. I just pass on what has been given to me, and it all comes back someday anyway.
I just happened to be on the current radar when the first group of awards were passed around. I don't feel that I actually do that much except that I try to offer morale support, and let people here know that someone is thinking about them.
The one year membership sponsorship offer to honor this award is still open from me. I am just waiting for someone who needs it and would enjoy using it to ask for it. PM me if you need it, and we will work out a way to get it done.
Thank you again Prash for jumping right into DPC and starting such a thoughtful recognition award. I can see that you are a "people" person who brings people together and gets things done.

Waddy, even if you choose not to display the ribbon on your page, we wont mind:-) It is an honor in itself just to see your name in the winners.

WOW. Thanks so much! It's a real pleasure helping others, not just in terms of literally helping Jeanne, but also teaching and sharing. I've learned so much from my time at DPC that it just seems natural to give it back.

Hi all!

I know I've been away for quite a while and I apologize for that (the economy being what it is, I've been working my second job a bit more than usual, on top of gearing up for the Challenge Walk this weekend). I did want to drop in and say a huge THANK YOU for this award! I'd also like to congratulate the other winners as well! I've always felt that the strength of DPC is its community, and knowing that I'm doing things that the community believes makes it stronger is very gratifying.

Thanks again,
~Terry

I believe that Shutterpug deserves a second nomination (or add this to her existing one. She is selling a camera by auction with the results going to SDW. Reference Thread

I realize that there are some stars that are helping Scott, but what about all the work Scott has done, first with the WPL, and more recently, the Free Study Marathon(s)?

He's a tireless and selfless worker for the photogs here at DPC.

Thanks Jackson! It is with such nominations that more of us will realise how great a community DPC is. If you or someone can please share a reference thread relating to Scott's tremendous work, I would be honored to add him to the nominees list. (pardon my ignorance but I am relatively new to DPC so I need you guy's help with finding more such diamonds:-)

You can take my name off the list. Seriously. All I'm doing is having fun with the site, and having fun with the site shouldn't be an extraordinary outreach.

Hi, Edward,

You did touch many hearts with the efforts you put in for the unique commenting style. This award was instituted to honor anyone who touched at least a few souls over and above just the technical knowhow; and you certainly deserve the nomination.

Also, it is a bit too late to remove your name as the list is out for decisions now with the judges. If you still wish to have your name removed (that we would hate to do :-(), I would request you to please wait till the results are out?

Thank you.

Ok. Sorry. I would have requested it much much earlier, but I somehow missed this thread before now. I'll let the forces of nature play out then.

*** Update: The results for the recent batch are out (please check the first post in this thread)!

There was a score tie between 2nd and 3rd position, so we decided to award only one 'Star' award this time, which means there are two 'Honorary Mentions'.

I will be sending out individual messages to the winners so they can display the ribbons on their profile page if they choose to.

Congratulations Linda ( ShutterPug), Brad ( Brad), and Edward ( K10DGuy)!!!!

Thank you dear judges for your time and for agreeing to remain anonymous!!

I am touched. Thank you for this award. Thank you also to those who helped make the idea a success by helping out Scott and his family.

Very well deserved. Good coordination. It has clearly shown through how many people it has touched in one way or another.

I'd like to nominate pawdrix. I had a photo of the day displayed on Kodak's big screen in Times Square and he took a photo of the big screen for me. This was a few years ago but he's done the same for several other people too.
