I wonder if McCain has ever taken a picture with a digital camera in his life. I hear he's never used a computer...

lol, this thread is funny, crazy Obama, everyone who is anyone shoots Nikon, and I agree, what is up with that grip, a camera is like a baby, always support the body AND the head, poor camera. It only wanted to be loved but got manhandled instead.

For Sam Braendle -- Digital camera courses were not taught in the Hanoi prison where
Lt. John McCain spent 6-1/2 years, only torture, which he endured with great courage
and honor in the military service of his country.
Perhaps you will tell us about your contribution while you were learning which button
to push on your digital camera, while you were flying combat missions.

Oh good grief!!! I am sure there are many POWs that eventually learned how to use a computer and even a digital camera. I fail to see any relevance whatsoever between the original post and your response.

For John Masquelier -- I respect the service of John McCain. However, I don't consider having been tortured a qualification for the presidency.

McCain used to be one of my favorites on the Republican side. I thought he was one of the more honest ones. However, my view of him drastically changed in recent months. Speaking about torture, he supported Bush's veto on outlawing some of the "advanced interrogation techniques" (waterboarding, sexual abuse, letting dogs attack prisoners, etc.). Given his own experience, it surprised me that McCain would now advocate using such techniques on others (and no, they're not all evil terrorists who deserve it, many of them just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time or had the wrong name. They are completely innocent. McCain made sure they could be tortured in horrible ways regardless).

However, what I do consider a qualification for the presidency is having an idea of how the world works. And nowadays, almost every aspect of our lives is hugely dependent on technology. I would want a president who has at least a basic understanding of technology. Otherwise he would be unable to even understand what important decisions are about. And I would want a president who is curious. A president who would want to know how stuff works. A president who is willing to learn.

Let me tell you about a specific example: Net neutrality has become an important issue. At the moment, every website on the Internet is essentially equal. You can browse wherever you want, you can create your own website, you can submit your pictures for challenges on this website here. I think it is important that the Internet remain free like this. Some people try to impose restrictions and to make certain content more easily available than other. This could for example mean that you could browse the website of Fox News at high speed, but the site of your local newspaper could barely be reached. And you'd have to pay an extra fee to be able to access DPC. I think it would be difficult for McCain to even understand what the issue is here.

What does that have to do with anything?

153,303 other servicemen went to Vietnam and came back in a box. Another 2,489 are still unaccounted for. Those guys have an excuse for not understanding technology.

John McCain sacrificed for his country there is no doubt about that, but that's not an excuse for being ignorant about technology.

My Dad is older than McCain and he's very proficient at using his computer.

Evidently hiding out in the National Guard while others went to fight the war was qualification enough for the current president. And actually showing up for his National Guard duties wasn't a requirement.

I like the way we all think our candidate is the best. I have come to the conclusion that you could put Porky Pig in office and get the same results as any president. A but of babbling, stutter, changing words in mid-sentence, and Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Thats all folks

I don't know, I'm willing to bet McCain is a better photographer then Obama. Based on that photo Obama doesn't even know how to hold a camera, and McCain's ranch in Sedona Arizona is in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, so lots of opportunity!
