I'll take this one on...it will help me get motivated! Besides, I have this need to dig up my voodoo doll (wink, wink, timfythetoo). Maybe, we can get scalvert in on this one? Shannon, come out...come out wherever you are!!!

That’s right. The tourney starts with the challenges that are announced on Sunday, so the first entries will come in the following Sunday/Tuesday, and the first people will start getting bounced a week after that.

We’ll have to play that one by ear … assuming you’re still alive by then. If there’s only a few people left by then (doubtful!), perhaps it could work. But making exceptions is gonna be a nightmare, so my initial inclination is to say “Congratulations …. and tough beans.” You can always shoot for the open challenge on your honeymoon. I’m sure your bride will understand. :>P (and if she doesn’t, you’ll need to start training her about your DPC addiction anyway!) Or maybe Langdon will give you a wedding gift and announce a speed challenge for later in that week!

Fun idea! I'd like to participate, please. My average is only 5.3-something. The real challenge will be making myself enter a challenge a week (and of course doing so with a "worthy" entry).

Not to be a control freak, but I'm questioning rule #3? If you have two entries in one week, why not just take the higher of the two? Just curious about your thinking on this. Anyway, count me in, and thanks.

No problem. A couple reasons. First, since registered users don’t have the option to enter member challenges, members will have an advantage in the tourney by having an extra challenge to choose from. It seemed to me to be fairer to make members pick their posion ahead of time. Second, part of the impetus for the tourney was to improve everyone’s average, as well as to cure myself (and perhaps others who suffer from the same malady) of the penchant I have for just throwing something up there to feed my update button addiction. That means thinking harder ahead of time about what to shoot, shooting it, and working to realize the pre-visualization in what I enter. Just throwing two pics up there and picking the best one seems to go against that. Third, like I tell my kids, because I said so! :>P

Glad to have you on board. Good luck in the tourney.

Hey Bear, thanks for joining us. Hilarious is right ... I think it will get quite interesting after 2 or 3 weeks. The smack talking alone should be worth the price of admission.
