Hello. I have a Vista laptop that will connect wirelessly for as long as several days and then all of a sudden is won't. It keeps saying my passphrase/password is incorrect, which it's not. If I uncheck the "keep SSID hidden" it will connect fine, but once I check that I lose connection. I could probably leave it unchecked as we live in the country and are quite a distance from the road and can't see neighbors. But...I like to know why something isn't working so if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Other info:
Laptop runs Vista. Desktop uses XP.
Wirelss Enabled
Using Channel 11
Auto Channel Scan and 802.11g Only Mode both unchecked
WPA2
TKIP
PSK

| When you hide the SSIP, do you punch it in on the laptop? - It won't be able to find it if it's hidden, unless you tell it the name. |

Yep, I enter the SSID and all the other good stuff but it just doesn't like it. I did have it working while hidden for 3-4 days, then this morning turned it on and nothing. *shrug*

I have this same thing happen and have simply learned to live with it. (I run my laptop runs almost 24/7 and it seems to drop out when it's not being used, though I think I have had it happen while I was using it a few times.) I too keep my SSID hidden (live in a suburban neighborhood), but am unwilling to change that. I have tried everything I can think of to get the connection back (disconnecting/reconnecting, ipconfig -release/-renew, disabling/enabling the wireless card) to no avail. I usually end up employing the Windows System Admin Secret Weapon(TM) (i.e., rebooting.)

Try to change your encryption from WPA2 to WPA personal

Make sure that in the router set up you add the Laptops MAC address to the safe list.
