Gift Membership - DPChallenge Forums

Hello everybody,

after 3 years of flirting with digital photography and after 2.5 years at DPC, I've recently upgraded to a DSLR! I got the Canon 350d and I'm ready to start a new adventure! Then, a few days ago, I received a wonderful gift from one outstanding member of this site - Courtenay (

dahkota) - a Canon lense! I'm so grateful for this wonderful present!
I would like to offer a one year DPC membership to somebody. I have a few people in mind, but I'd like your help in deciding who should receive it. I'd like you to nominate anyone who crosses your mind, preferably a registered user who is active on the site. Last year, I received a membership from

ErinM, which meant a lot to me. I'd like the membership to go to someone who couldnt affort it otherwise. I'll let the nominations run for several days and then I'll decide. Feel free to post your nominees in this thread or send me a PM.

you are welcome. One of the great things about DPC is that members here pay it forward. Everyone here has benefited in one way or another - with comments, advice, help, even just meeting new people. That's probably why so many people have been members for so long!

DarkRider. He shows great potential, is very active in the forums and also votes on nearly every challenge. He has also made more comments than he has received, he is exactly the sort of person we really appreciate on DPC.

He used to be a member and it's such a shame that all those gorgeous hummingbirds are "in hiding".

WOW!!! Barbara and Mark, Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH for the nominations. I am in total shock to just have seen my name here. Really I can not say thank you enough.

As for the Gift Membership I definitely think it should go to someone else. I can easily afford it myself and know there has to be someone more deserving then me.

I also think that

Darkrider would be a good candidate! He has very strong work and I think that he would do well in member challenges.

As much as I think so too, he has requested that the membership go to someone else. He says he can afford it on his own, so we should look for someone who has great work but can not afford the membership on their own.
