What is the difference between them?

The Extended version gives you extra tools for 3D model/animation work and video. Unless you need that just get the regular version.

I've got Extended because it came with the software suite I bought. I never use the "Extended" parts.

I currently use Photoshop Elements 5.

Does photoshop CS3 have the following features:

An organiser (or do you have to get lightroom)?
An emailing feature?
Able to create slide shows?
Elements also has scrapbooking but I don't imagine CS3 has that but maybe it does.

Thinking of upgrading but just checking on these things.

get the ps3 with the 60gig hard drive if you can find one. it has all the hardwear from the ps2, so it can play all the old games without emulation. the 80 only has the graphics chip from the ps2 and emulates the cpu. i got a 40 gig, which has neither the cpu or graphics chip and can't play any of the old ps2 games...

oh. nevermind...

I believe you can do a Flash based photo gallery that will move from image to image in a slide fashion. But am not a 100% sure. Usually don't care for slide shows. Too slow, or too fast.

Also, I don't think PS CS3 Extended is worth it for most people. You'd probably be better off with CS3 standard + Lightroom.

Thanks for the replies.

I quite enjoy Elements 5.

Looking to upgrade, was looking at Elements 6 but don't think there is much difference and thought CS3 might be the better choice.

Which body, which len, which editing program .... will it ever stop!!!!!

Might just sit tight with Elements 5 for a bit longer.

Student pricing is available for both CS3 and Lightroom. You don't have to be the student if you know what I mean ;) Lightroom is approx. $99, CS3 is about $260 and CS3 Extended around $298 HERE.
Added: approx. $380 for CS3 Extended/Lightroom bundle.
