How do I stop Lightroom opening up each time I plug in a drive or USB etc. Each time I plug in a printer or USB Lightroom opens up. Had a look but cant find a setting to stop it. Thanks for your help.

assuming you are using windows, look in your taskbar for "Adobe Photo Downloader", right click on it and choose "Disable".

I'm sorry but cant find this. Can you be more specific? By taskbar do you mean the bottom bar on my main windows window. Do I have to have Lightroom open to do this. I'm not making any headway.

In Addition: Try going to Edit->Preferences, and unchecking the box next to "Show Import Dialog..."

Yes, it's on the bottom bar next to the time/date. It's a small icon that when you move your mouse over it should say "Adobe Photo Downloader". Right-click the mouse on this icon and then choose "Disable"

You should not need to have LR running in order to do this.

Thank you it was hiding out of sight. I found it and it has worked. :o)

You cannot stop Lightroom, you can only hope to contain it... :P
