My son is taking a trip to the Czech Republic in a few weeks, needs an easy-to-carry camera, preferably with good battery life.
Any suggestions for a good p&s, say around $250?

Look at the A series Canon's. The AA batteries make life a LOT easier for those non-camera geeks and the pics are very good considering.
