The results of the 'Marshmallow Peeps' challenge have been recalculated due to the disqualification of the former 6th place image. Congrats to our new top 10!

So what was the exact violation? Was the balloon suspended by something, then removed in post-processing?

This is an area of DPchallenge that kills me. The rule on this topic is so vague and leaves the interpretation up to the site council. If you look at Scalverts entry as an example, He cloned out fishing line, which is sort of the same thing here isnt it?

Where is the cheeseman when you need him?

He was cloned out. :(

I think the areas that were cloned out were not prominent enough to affect my point of view for this image. It's advanced editing...

Can you suggest a more objective wording? We've tried for years but have yet to come up with one.

Yes, why not state that you can clone out any portion of a submission which assisted in the setup, display, or prop as long as the original background is not changed in a way to misrepresent the original.

Gators editing is no different that scavert's or anyone else that has cloned out fishing line etc.

As someone that has been around here for a long time, this latest disqualification is so inconsistent with what we have seen allowed in the past. I rarely jump up & down on issues, but this was wrong in my opinion. I could easily show examples of setup props, strings, even background supports that were cloned out or removed that were no different than this shot.

What a shame.
