I have not been a member of the CC for that long but seems to me that almost everyone asks for a critique for every shot submitted, is it just me who thinks this is the case? Does anyone know the percentage?

"I would like an indepth critique on my submission." I first thought that this meant if you didn't check it no one would give you a comment. I would assume that most people make it because it's one of the 4 boxes that you can check off.

"Add this photograph to your wishlist! " I first thought this meant that after the contest was over that it would be picked as a favorite. What does it really do? Tell the photographer to make it a print?

to jacko : well, your shots are beyond critique, how could anyone for example critique that recent angry kitty shot it was a masterpiece beyond words : )

I would say I am guilty of doing that. I am fairly new to the site and just like faidoi said, it was one of the 4 boxes I check off. Now I realise that making critiques takes time, and will only check the box when I really feel I need an in depth critique.

Maybe there should be a limit to how many you can request per month? Not sure how backed up the critique club is but this should helpmake their job easier.

I was not complaining as much as curious, tho often shots come up that do very very well and I wonder how best to critique them. Maybe it is an admission of guilt that good photos tend to get shorter reviews at least from me....sorry

What does that do?

Good question, I'd like to know too :-)

It would be cool if there were a box to check during voting that let's the photographer know the viewer thinks it should be a print.

Ellamay, I used to check it every time. Now, if the scores pretty well and I get good comments, I uncheck the box.

I'm glad you brought this up because I have been thinking the same thing, and I also have not been in as long either. It seems like there is an insurpassable amount of images waiting to be critiqued. I know I tend to do about 3-5 a week (I should do more though) and the number always seems really high. By the way, how many people are in the critique club?

I'm very new to all this! The Off Screen Expectation is my third challenge entered. I ahve asked for critiques on all 3 simply because I want to see what an independent party thinks of my pics. However from now on I will also uncheck the box if I feel the scores/comments give me a good idea of what people think of my pic/what I could have done to make it better.

There are currently 65 members of the critique club, although many of those haven't posted a critique in a good few months. I'd guess that about 75% of submissions are marked for critique, which results in about 300 critique requests a week for this small band of volunteers...

So if any of you are interested in giving critiquing a go, visit the Critique Club page and follow the links to contact either myself or Konador, and we'll give the lowdown and sign you up if you're interested. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join, regardless of ability! :o)

Change of subject.. sorry. This option is like Amazon's. In this case, pick pictures you'd like to print in the future.

I´m in this to learn more and therby I always mark my pictures for the critique club (but havent got anything from them jet). I´m sometimes getting lot of comments but most of them are not very helpful ("very nice", "dont like it", etc.). If I´m going very well (wich hasnt happend jet) and I get lot of helpful comments I will surely unmark that image.
I would surely like to voluntair for the Critique Club but I´m not sure if I´m able since I´m pretty new to this and havent still got indepht knowlidge of photography. But when I think I´ve got something to shaere I sometimes right pretty long comments.
