anybody out there know anything about shooting directly to a laptop via firewire?
i have to do it w/ a mark ii and macbook pro next week but im not sure if i need special software or if it will work with iphoto.

i'm just guessing that the cd that came with the mark includes both apple and pc versions. since i use a pc and can't readily get my hands on my cd, i really can't tell you for sure. i do know that shooting tethered rocks, especially when you can't afford to wait to see if you got the shot.

I think that some company makes a CF card slot wireless unit that does that same job without the tether. Anyone else remember seeing it on a thread? They were supposed to produce a Mac version of it sometime by now too. Google "Wireless CF Card"

im renting this camera so i doubt they'd be including it if it was a disk that came w/ the camera.
i didn't know if there was some downloadable mac software for it or not.
i've been searching and have come up with nothing. |

If you want to do more research, it's called "tethered shooting". On the PC the Canon EOS utility does it with "lesser" cameras. I'm not sure about the 1D series or Macs, but googling "Mac mkII tethered" should lead to some results.
