The title says it all, and hence my doubt as to the quality of the image. First time ever taking night time lapse shots of a city. First time every trying to stitch two images together.

Result? What I think is a stretched and funky looking pano. What I would have done to only have a wide angle lense in the first place.

I realize there are certain parts of the city that look too fuzzy or whited out. I'll chalk that one up to my exposure being too long. But does anyone else think it looks stretched/distorted, or have I just been up too late sticting this thing together by hand in PS?

Comments, critiques, and flames welcomed.

Smitty,

Excelent first time attempt. I can see an obvious mismatch one-third in from left above green street light.

I think I see what you are talking about. I'll head back into PS and touch that section later.. Been up all night..

A little to the right of the brightest street lamp above that parking garage..

Thanks again..!!

I think it would save a lot of time to get some stiching program. If you know someone using a digital Canon he will probably have one. I´ve been trying this and sometimes the results are good but othertimes not as good. This is also a question of a technic which I could not explain to you in few words (not very good at it myself) but it can be read about in some digital photography books and webpages.

I use Photoshop elements and it will doa photomerge for you - File>Create Photomerrge. Is there any reason you did this by hand instead?

The reason would be because I don't know how to use PS CS very well / at all. I'll see if it has that option and give that a whack!

I think it's an excellent first attempt.
