I downloaded 7 photos to my itouch just to test it-- They look amzing!! and my Sync said was "optimizing" my photos for itouch--

But when I look at my Memory, the photos are 4.6 megs (for 7 shots).. They didnt optimize much-- should I resize photos before a sync?

While we are on the subject could I ask if the ipod is one of the better storage solutions for photos? I dont listen to music on them but would be interested in getting one just for the photographic value. Buzzrock, which one did you get and what was the main reason for getting it compared to others. If anyone has other suggestions I would be more that interested.

the ipod touch screen has awesome resolution. i'd recommend it for photos or videos in a heartbeat. :)

Tim, I don't have an ipod touch (yet), but I have found on other devices that it always looks better when I resize the photos first.

Please forgive me for hijacking your thread, but have you (or other ipod touch owners) ever tried to synchronize it with google calendars?

I would sooooooooooo love to know if that works!

Tim, I bought mine specifically to carry around as a handy portfolio for prospective clients, and all photos are scaled down to 640px for fast loading and small file size. I might go up to 1200-1500px the next time I rework the portfolio in case someone wants me to zoom in, but IMO there's no reason to keep full resolution versions on the iPod just for viewing.

I also use dpc sized photos for my digital photo frame as I find it takes a lot longer for the frame to scroll from one shot to the next if they are bigger sizes. It also means I can fit way more photos onto the sd card.

I have the iPod touch for similar reasons, and I think, no matter what size I put them in at, the iPod still scales them to 640pixels. I might try again and see, but there seems to be very little difference when you zoom in and the graininess is the same...maybe it's just me??? I know my gadgets though...
