I recently won a copy of ThumbsPlus Pro Edition (value, $89.95 US) in an online photo contest. I have no need for it so I am giving it away to someone who needs a photo editing program and will use it. Here is a link showing what it can do:

If you would like this, please respond here and tell me why you want it. If you already have PSP or Photoshop you will not need this, this is probably best for someone starting out who is just using a free photo editing program now.

After a couple of days when several people have responded I will pick the person to whom I will give this software. I have a code for downloading it that I will email you. Good luck!

Just in case people don't know.

ThumbsPlus has been around for a long time and it is more than a photo editor.

It's primary purpose is for cataloguing images. (at least that's what it was in the past)

I'd actually love to have it, for the purpose of cataloging my images. I'm WAY overdue for something like that. If you don't find a better candidate, I'm your guy :-)

Bear, sending you a PM. You're the lucky guy since no one else was interested!

Dang just missed it! I was out of town for my Grandmothers funeral and away from the PC for a while. If anything like this comes up again I would be interested or if anyone knows of a place to get a good photo editing software for cheap I would greatly appreciate it. I have recently purchased a Nikon D40 after a 20 year layoff. I love photography and want to learn more.

Thanks very much Karen. It's a very interesting program. I'm actually considering using it for my basic editing entries, LOL. And I only wanted it for the cataloging features...

I've used Thumbsplus for several years now to catalog, but never edited a photo with it. It is a great program, but one thing that annoyed me (and made me switch to Bridge) is keywords kept getting lost within the IPTC editor. That was an earlier version and maybe version 7 is now fixed. I don't really even remember what the problem was, but it made me want to look for another program. You might want to do some testing before you go hog wild keywording all your photos with it.

I still use thumbsplus to batch process because it is really easy and fast. Great program overall. I love the way it deals with files with the same name when copying...it shows them side-by-side and lets you decide what to do with them. I don't remember it having a way to rank photos quickly though which is something I use a lot in Bridge.

Another great feature of thumbsplus is that it uses standard databases to store information so you can develop your own program pretty quickly to search, etc....
