I just picked up some prints from costco today. It was pretty fair quality, but ok for me. They never question me o.0 but then again, my photos arent exactly pro quality [though pretty good] They'd maybe question me if i didnt have my mom there [considering I'm 13 and take pretty good photos]. Just in case, i just take me mom there, she'll argue if they suspect anything. She nearly ripped a furniture salesman's head off trying to prove that a piece of furnniture had its price reduced.

If you upload you photos to Costco, they only require you to push this button attesting to your ownership/right to copy the photo(s)

They not only seem to expect submissions by professional photographers they encourage it and provide a link to the printer profiles they use.

I have never had any issue printing at Walmart. Ritz once questioned me though, but I assertively told them I took the shots, and they stopped questioning immediately (I think being 6'4", 275lbs, shaved head, and looking overall like a very very very mean person helped me)

And prolabs are great and all, but its hardly the only option. I use my costco for prints all the time, and the customers don't question the quality or where they came from, cause they look great. And at this point the relationship we have with Costco is better then any I oculd have with a prolab.

I agree, I have on my wall a 8 by 10 printed by Costco. taken by a fujifilm 280Z (2MP) messed around with several times in JPEG in Elements 2 (before I knew better), and looks better than out of the camera.

Costco is awesome. I just got my prints done today and i've always took costco for granted saying like its for cheapos or whatever, but their prints are pretty nice =]

I print often at Costco and think the quality is very good. I have also printed at WHCC and think they are roughly equal. Costco used Fuji Fontier and Noritzu printers and if you profile the printers that are at the store you use (www.drycreekphoto.com) and check "do not color correct" your outputs will be excellent.
You can go to "Professional" printers if you want to, but next time you're there, be sure to find out which printers THEY are using , you may be surprized.

The one problem I've found with Costco is figuring our exactly which model printer any particular-sized print will be sent to.

However, I've always turned off the "Auto-Correct" setting, do not use any profiles or color-management, and seem to get what I expect just about all the time.
