Here's a team that proves you can't BUY the best team. They prove that small-ball and a balanced team without big superstars can bring it home.

The Indians beat the Yanks (the highest paid team in 2007) and now on the the Red Sox (the 2nd highest paid team).

GO TRIBE!!!

I absolutely love how they got no respect and no one thought they had a chance.
I got sick of all the talk of a Yankees sweep.
Well, it was almost a sweep but with the Indians holding the broom!

The only real offensive playoff experience on this team is a 40 yr. old Kenny Lofton.
These kids are gonna be good for awhile so watch our AL!

Oh, and does anyone else feel like they are watching an episode of the Twilight Zone with how good our pitching staff is?!?!?!?

ETA Re: salaries - It's also good to see the low salary Rockies making it past the first round.

The formula Cleveland is using sounds like the same formula that the White Sox used two years ago to win the whole thing. Good pitching and timely hitting with a relatively low payroll. I hope the Tribe goes far.

I certainly hope you're not rooting against the Red Sox!

Since there are no Chicago teams in the playoffs, I guess Cleveland can substitute for ya ;)

It's a longer walk back to Boston, Manny.

I like how one of the fans last night threw a homerun ball back into the field. He was stupid tho - did you see the woman who got one after that took some $$$ from a Red Sox fan? Smart woman!

Go Tribe!

That was a smart Indians fan. She made some dough. I also loved Manny though staring at his hit, acting like a conquering hero when they were still down 7-3. Oh well one more and then the WS!!!! Go TRIBE!!!

Bring on the Rockies!

I hope Colorado did not fall asleep waiting for the AL to decide who goes to the World Series. Boston should help draw a bigger TV audiene than if it was Colorado- Cleveland. Both did exremely well for smaller market teams. Rockies have something like the fifth lowest payroll in baseball.

GO SOX! Thanks for coming through in the clutch, Dice-K :-) 51 million dollars bought a squeaker of a World Series berth...
