Just went to Best Buy w/the hubby and there it was.....
the smaller, Wacom 4x5 Graphire4....for $74.99. It would be perfect for my level of expertise I reasoned!

Just thought I'd share. That's almost half price! I don't need the huge fancy one!

Not sure he even knows what your talking about. I had to go look it up to find out it was a graphics drawing tablet. You never said anything about what it was and unless someone knows the company name your post says nothing about what it is ur looking at.

Figured id clear that up.

I'm well aware of what they are. I've had the original Graphire for nearly a decade. I asked half price of what because it didn't make sense if the OP was talking about price. I've never seen the small Graphire tablet above $99 and the current Amazon price is $78.

I have the 4x5 Grapphire 3. I think the size is just right and it has become such a necessary tool that I dont think I would even bother trying to do any advanced type editing without it. I rarely use the mouse at all anymore. The pen and tablet ROCK!!!

I love my 4x5 Graphire.

The size is terrific. The huge ones require too much arm movement.

My bad...I "ASS U ME"d because so many here have discussed that I was about the last person to have one. Apologies. As usual, I've screwed up again.

Does anyone have the Wacom Intuos3 4x6 version and if so, how do you like it? I'm torn between the 4x6 and the 6x11. My concern is not the cost but which would be better to use. I have heard folks say that the larger sizes require too much arm movement but was worried that the 4x6 might be too small and too quick moving when used with my 24" monitor running at 1600x1920. The smaller footprint of the 4x6 would be better but I want the best tool for the job. Any information or input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

i have a large wacom tab I have had it for 3 years and still haven't completely utilized it. It spends alot of time in my laptop bag.

I had the Wacom Intuos3 4x6 and gave up on using it with my 20" monitor. When trying to draw a smooth curve, the cursor would constantly wiggle no matter how still I kept my hand. I was never able to debug it (made sure I had the newest driver, checked the FAQ) so I gave it to a friend with a smaller display. I'm guessing it's a problem of resolution that's inherent in translating from such a small drawing surface to such a big canvas.

But if anyone knows of a solution to this (other than buying the much more expensive big tablet), I'd love to hear about.

This is actually exactly what I was afraid of. The slightest movement on the tablet would make a much larger movement on the screen. I guess I will put down the extra bills and get the 6x11. Thanks for the info!!!

Check w/ Timyfthetwo as he and Amy have one and use it religiously! He's earned a few ribbons. ;) i have the 4x6 and actually really like it. (no ribbons, though.) I was told the bigger size is a waste as you do need far more arm movement to use it.

At work, so the name link isn't working, sorry.
