:) I was really really excited to have the experience to shoot behind the scenes at a rodeo last week. I was hoping I could get some feedback on the shots. I was really aiming to tell a story of the rodeo culture with each and every photo. If you could give me your thoughts on why a particular shot does or does not tell you a story I would be veryyyyyy greatful :) I'm really trying to get better at this photojournalism shtuffff, any help is totally appreciated. thank u thank u thank u. here's the rodeo life album ... thanks again!

Mostly looking good, Shanahan. In terms of telling the rodeo lifestyle story, this one lacks context with the exception of the boots. It works great in the collection though.

And this one seems quite a bit outta place (no context)

Otherwise, I think you've done a good job of putting the story together. Needs some sort of chronology maybe.

Heck I dunno. It's late and I can't see straight. :/ Good luck on all of it though!

thanks art!!! i reallllly appreciate that! and ya, you're right, the 2nd one is out of place... i think i just put it in that album cus i actually did take it at the rodeo but it doesnt really tell much about the rodeo life. good call on that one :)

PS: and yes, that is snot coming out of the calf's nose. i didnt even notice it til u mentioned it. hahahah

Shannon, looks good...You have allot of strong images giving a sense of the lifestyle. Not only of the riders but of the animals as well. I did somewhat of the same with the storytelling on my tour in Iraq.

I agree that you have a lot of strong images there. One thing I would recommend is that you stick to either B&W or color. In order to "tell a story" the images should flow seamlessly and having a mix of black and white and color images is not helping. This is, of course, just my very personal opinion.
