The Herald Journal, a 16,000-circulation daily in scenic Logan, Utah, has a position open for a chief photographer. We have a three-member photo staff, including the chief photographer. With this position opening, we’ll be looking at both internal and external candidates. Remaining photo staff members each have seven-years-plus experience as full-time daily photojournalists and what we consider very high skill levels, so any outside applicants must have something above and beyond this to be seriously considered. Send resume and portfolio to Managing Editor Charles McCollum, The Herald Journal, P.O. Box 487, Logan, UT 84321-0487. Application deadline is July 11.

Our team has a proud history of coverage that is thorough, fair and accurate — and regularly receives recognition from the industry, most recently with 13 awards from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors contest. We highly value our community and our employees, who are compensated with a good benefits package (health insurance/401K) and competitive pay. Send cover letter, up to 15 samples of your work and resume to Kelly Brown, managing editor, 1729 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, 77802 or e-mail her at kelly.brown@theeagle.com.
