I thought I have already done my duty for the Money challenge as I commented on 30 pictures after receiving 7 comments on my entry. Ever since the voting started I keep asking myself... what is wrong with it? What could have been improved or changed, what I should have left out or waht I should have included in the picture so the voters would have liked it more? Because from the average... 5... is not good and is not too bad. After receiving the 7 comments I started to understand more. But I would have liked more comments and I wished I had that box to check saying: "Please, have no mercy on my photo... say all what you dislike about it."
This is why I had the idea... to go back to the pictures I voted for already but did not leave a comment as I found them not too good but not too bad either. Just like my own. They might be waiting for a comment just like I am and not too many cares to let comments on a mediocre picture. At least, I know I have sinned, I am guilty about this.

I appreciated all the comments on my photo. It was my first attempt at entering a challenge here. I am an amature compared with all the pros here. Please bear with me as I keep on trying to do better.

Ooops! Did I hit? Does this mean at least that the comment was welcomed or do not do it again... let me be?

I am sorry I wasn't referring to your comment. So don't be offended by what I said above.

I appreciated the comment you left on mine. Maybe not exactly what I wanted to hear! LOL But very helpful, like you said, when we post an average shot the comments fall off.

And we have no way to know what the problem was.

Thank you.

If I rated you with a 5, that means that I did considered your photo as an average one. But I have tried to give some suggestions even on some that I considered good pictures... Good thing that I don't know who's photo I comment on. I would have never have the couragge to comment on your photo otherway, JC.
But as someone was saying in another thread, you look from who is coming the comment. If it is a begginer... you will understand that he is just learning... I don't know enough to leave advices or suggestions.... but people don't appreciate a simple " I like the photo". So it is a kind of "catch 22". (For some people outside Canada and US that didn't know the expression, this mean "Damn if you do and damn if you don't.")

There is no offence, Marilyn. I am new to the site myself and trying to learn.

I do not know who's shots are who's of course, but in the money challenge I found most of the shots boring to be honest. It is partly due to the challenge topic and the lack of creativity that was used to 'shoot' it. Credit cards(for example) do (i suppose) represent commerce (and lack of money IMO), however they do not make an interesting photo IMO. I think because shots are so 'slammed' for being seemingly off challenge topic, makes it difficult for people to be really creative, (hence we end up with lots of dull shots).

Actually you gave me better than 5. I was also replying in a generic way re: comments on other shots also.
