CS3 is now ready for download. I'm definitely getting it tonight, so my new Imac will finally be put to use for the main purpose I bought it for. Who else is jumping on the bandwagon, now that it is officially out (not just a beta)?

Does anyone know what new features are in cs3. I already have cs2 and unless cs3 can do something really nice, it seems like a lot of money to spend.

//www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/upgrade/

The beta has been available for a couple of months. If it's still available, download and give it a try. There are a ton of new features in CS3. I fell in love immediately.

Haha I just downloaded the '30 day trial beta' yesterday and when I installed it I noticed that it said 'you only have 1 day left' so I thought it might be comin out today. I think I'll have to get the new version ;) I also preorded the CS3 Web Premium suite a week or so ago, I'm pretty excited for that whole bundle to come early next month.

80% downloaded. Too bad I'm at work, the boss is here, and my laptop is at home. I'm excited to try out the Shadow-Highlights function as well as the HDR to compare it with Photomatix.

Ditto on wanting to try that out. Actually, I'm pretty stoked about all the new features, especially the improved Bridge, camera raw, and selection tools. Life is good!

I just can't wait for the stability of the release version. That beta version was pretty buggy, especially Bridge.

so does anybody else have it installed yet, I have the CS3 suite installed and love photoshop, lots of cool new features, I have been playing with it alot.

Yep, I've got it loaded up. Installation wasn't flawless, by any stretch, but I now have it up and running. There are some awesome features in it, but there is a little bit of a learning curve going from CS2 on a PC to CS3 on a Mac. Nothing I can't figure out--just a slightly different workflow. But overall, I'm loving it!

There doesn't seem to be an "ordinary" 30 day trial. I couldn't try the beta because I don't have CS2 (I have CS).

I'd like to see them do a trial. I'm not sure I need CS3 anymore since I have lightroom.

Here is where I will likely get screwed by Adobe. I had purchased CS2 through an offer with the 20D upgrading from Essentials. It was supposed to be an upgrade to the full version but I was mis-shipped an upgrade package.

The result is every time I have to re-install. I must contact Adobe, haggle with them and be granted a license authorization code. ANNOYING!!!

I heard that you can only upgrade from full versions. If that's true then I am beat, where as if I was shipped the proper package I'd be able too. However, if this is untrue, please let me know. I might be worth the $200 upgrade if I simply don't need to go thru the haggle with Adobe anymore.

Upgrading from an upgrade should be no problem. You have a valid license for CS2, you should be able to upgrade. The only fly in the ointment is the lack of some "full" version to validate the upgrade to CS2. That's of course why you need to keep going 'round with Adobe. I don't think that would change with CS3. As an example, my last "full" version was 4.0. I upgraded to 7.0, then CS, then CS2. Every time I need to reinstall, Ihave to start with 4.0 :-P
There is a process by which users can break this "upgrade chain" or so I've been told by Adobe. After I purchase a CS3 upgrade, I will need to look into this. I think this is the same process you'd have to go through to break your dependence on your unconventional upgrade path.

Youll have to start with 4.0, but whats the next version that willupgrade off of 4.0 if its CS2 then thats the next step, skip as many steps as possible. Atleast for now.

I would love to jump into the 'Full' version realm, I have PSE and still haven't got the hang of it.

The CS3 upgrade detected Photoshop 7 on my laptop, I guess. I had no problem.

Odds are that if it looks too good to be true, it it. Lots of places selling pirate software online. Them only offering downloads and not shipped packages looks very suspicious.

I wouldn't touch that with a 30 foot pole.

that is definitely warez and the site should prob be reported but most likely is in a country that the authorities cant touch them.
