I voted last night, left comments (nothing indepth) and to be honest I scored a bit differently on this challenge. The set up shots were all very nice and in a regular challenge would probably garner a 10 from me but the theme of this challenge, to me, made the candid and personal shots more important and they are the ones that scored higher this time around. There are some beautiful shots of children in this challenge and very few of them didn't get a 10 from me, they had to be out of focus or just a generally bad shot not to get one. :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday on Thursday, I know I did!

Given that Deannda has a (nice) tendancy to comment on most if not all shots in just about every challenge, it's not likely that anonymity has suffered too much here. :-)

And I did comment on all the Surprised shots and all the Giving Thanks shots. Trying to get some of the Scents and Aromas but there are so many................ and the Soft Focus is DRIVING me INSANE! Soft focus just looks blurry to me on some level, even when it's done properly and I just want to SHARPEN IT! :)

Not sure if I'm entering that one

I'm with you on this one Deannda, but for different reasons. I am SOOOO frustrated with my camera in less then perfect lighting conditions! I don't even wanna try to cutting the light back on purpose. So, I'm sitting one out for the first time in months in order to minimize stress levels!

Anonymity suffers whenever an entrant responds to comments left on their entry by a voter, either privately via PM or publically via forums, before the voting closes. And when anonymity is breached between one voter and one entrant it could affect all other entrants as well. Anonymity would be better protected if the voter's comments were not connected to the voter until after the voting period. That not being the case here, we depend on honorable behavior by the individuals involved to protect anonymity. This may sound sort of absolutist (it does to me as I type) but think of it this way- anonymity is much like pregnancy, you can't have some of it, you either have it or you don't. I am not trying to be critical of anyone, or complaining. Just trying to point out some of the finer details of how our system works.

How much anonymity can there be when probably half of the images here are of family members? If anyone knows the photographer, they will know the picture. Also I have not seen anything in THIS post that would give away which picture any one person took. Only Deannda knows what scores she gave out and I'm sure that she gave out more than one 8 (edit: or 9) which is really the only clue to match photograph/photographer...

Oh and normally on a regular challenge I would agree with you 110% but this challenge isn't really the same as the regular weekly challenges because of topicality!
