You got some really great shots there - full of colour and patterns. Nicely done. I like the taxi shot a lot.

I like this new contrasty style you've developed lately mario - kind of edgy. lots of elements fighting for your attention. well done.

Super shots, mariomel! These are all so great I can't even pick one as the best. Nice job.

These are from about a year and a half ago but it's the last trip we got to take.

Wow, mariomel, those are awesome. The variety of colors and angles are amazing.

I dug through my photos from my cruise in Southern Europe last year. Results:

On my site Http://mariacosta.instantlogic.com I have some from Rio, Canada and Vermont.
Loved your pictures, mariomel. All of them.

I loved the panorama of NYC. Great shot! Wished I had thought of that. Somehow, I find difficult balancing a family trip with serious (read: artistic) photography! I found myself often stragling behind my wife and daughter, as I looked for photo opps.

Here are some from a recent weekend in Newport Beach, California. I'm particularly amused by the painted sign reading "JUMPING DIVING DOGS NO" on the pier.

I have a very wonderful and long suffering wife. She now has a camera of her own :) But really what I try and do is only take the shots that are really worthwhile and letting some less potentially good opportunities slide. But most of my trip shots are family/ touristy snaps rather than anything carefully considered

I hate to follow the trend here but New York is the only place I've traveled since I got my camera so here you go...

Some great shots Mariomel!
I think you have a very artistic eye.
I live right across the river(NJ) and yet, have not taken the time to get any good city shots.
Can you tell me from where you shot the Statue shot?

Terry, thank you for your comment. The Statue shot was taken from the Esplanade along the Hudson River, right at the bottom of Liberty Street. I used my Sigma 70-300mm. I had no tripod, so I rested the camera on a lampost concrete base, using my gloves to adjust the framing. Used the timer. I should get a little beanbag thingy to help in the future.

Xcharrier, what lens did you use on many of your shots? Quite the perspective.

mariomel... I mainly used my sigma 15mm F2.8 and my sigma 28-80 F3.5-5.6

I assume the persepective you're refering to are my 15mm shots... I personally love that lens. Unfortunately, with my camera it shoots like a 24mm.

My husband and I will be going to Europe in April... I can't wait!! In June of this year we went to Australia, where my husband is from. I won't bore you with the hundreds of photos I took, but I found this sign to be rather amusing. Seen at a local fair, or "show" as they're called in Oz.
