I've submitted 4 photos to 4 different challenges - including this one. Every time I clicked the "in-depth critique" tick box... and I have never seen it. Has it been done?? Where is it? How can I find it? how does this work????

It's all fine and dandy.. but not very user friendly. Or, maybe, I'm just clueless. Help!

that checkbox is like an application form - you may not always get what you applied for.

AFAIK they are way behind on critiquing and you may have to be a little patient. I think they are trying to make an honest effort at catching up but I believe that they are low on critics ATM :)

they are a little behind, I just got mine from the street photography challenge which considering how many request they get...that is REALLY fast. I try not to hit that button very often just so it's one less for them.

Be patient they will come.

Ok was just wondering since Brokeh III, Lighting III and Exit were a while ago...

I am patient, just didn't know I had to be for this also... I totally understand it takes time! =)

You could also simply ask for some comments on a particular picture you are looking for more feedback on. I find this helpful when you have a submission that doesn't receive a lot of good feedback. Its also good when a shot doesn't do as well as you thought it would and you'd like to know why.

Obviously spamming the forums with every shot in your portfolio is going to ower your chances of constructive feedback but this is a community of good patient people so feel free to ask.

Unfortunately, there are but a relative few active CC'ers. And it seems an awful lot of people check that box all the time in each challenge, thus, there are normally several hundred critique requests waiting in the queue. The queue is emptied a week after voting ends for that challenge, so anything beyond that will not recieve one. (you can imagine if they stayed in the queue, there would literally be thousands waiting). You can always join the club :-) The more critiquers there are, the more critiques that would get done, and the more chance that everyone could receive crit's on their shots.

Keep in mind, too, that Critique Club members are just normal DPCers who volunteer to give detailed critiques to whoever pops up next in random order. They have lives and other interests.

So it's not like they're being paid.

Also, the Critique Club cache is cleared at rollover, we only have a week to critique an image after voting ends. It keeps the cache from getting tooo big, but if we don't get to an image, it's not going to get a CC critique.

Edit: I say we, like I've been active lately. I need to start doing more critiques, so as not to sound hypocritical.

I have asked for Critique club to comment quite a few times, but never had an entry commented on either. I just figured they were that far backed up also. I didnt know they cache got cleared at rollover. This makes more sense to why I never recieved one.

Thanks
