It is a clear, cloud free night here in southern England at the moment. Going to check camera batteries, dig out the tripod ready for later. Just hope it stays clear! Hope it clears for you too, Greetmir!

Looking great in New England. I have a location in mind. I wonder how may shooters I'll be competing with (for parking spaces) there?

Nice here in New Orleans....first eclipse for me to photgraph.

According to the information I can find, we won't even see it where I am.

The total eclipse occurs at 2244 GMT... which is 2:44PM for me. (West coast US)

I am setting Manual with F8ish and 1/180 shutter. But as eclipse increases, moon gets darker so you will need to adjust shutter accordingly. Just shoot loads at different settings, you are sure to get some good shots. Have fun!!

I have been looking foward to this all week. Just my luck it has not stopped raining here(Florida) all day. It doesn't look like it is going to get any better. I guess I will have to wait for the next one. :)

Don't make the mistakes I did the last eclipse. Use manual, don't expose for too long, make sure your tripod is very sturdy or use a remote, and block any wind. I'm hoping I'll get a second chance today... Oh, and use a longer zoom.478561.jpg

Oh, and save everything. You never know when it might come in handy. Like today. :)

25% of the original image, a tad soft but not too shabby for an unedited shot? (other than the crop and b/w conversion)
