A camera from ebay that was still in it's NEW packaging and from a seller with good feedback?

I've seen a lot of deals with the camera, lens, memory card, and camera case for WAAAAAAAY cheaper than you could buy seperately. So, what gives? What do they know that I don't?

Oh yeah, would you buy something like that?

Few possibilities...

The user's id has been hacked
Camera is stolen
Seller won it and is selling at a big discount

Yes.

I have bought two cameras through Ebay and both have been what they should be.

More possibilities...

Retailer is using eBay as another sales channel
Buyer changed mind / suffered buyer's remorse
Received as a gift but didn't want it
Bought it and thinks they could make a profit reselling through eBay

My last camera (Olympus C5050z) was bought off ebay. I got really lucky cause the guy actually lived near me and agreed to just meet and exchange money for camera...he even ended up giving me $30 off the price since he didn't have to worry about shipping anymore.

Camera was payment for a photo shoot he did for a company (sort of like A Day in the Life) but he didn't use it cause he had a much better pro DSLR. So he made money on the deal and I got a great camera well below cost.

I must worn you though...just as there is a sucker born every minute, there is a thief born every second. Be careful and good luck.

If the seller had good feedback, and was based in the same country as I was (I think it helps) and was accepting paypal, I'd go for it.

There are some scammers on Ebay as there are everywhere, but there are also telltale signs that give some of them away.
