Where does is say that your Halloween shot has to be spooky?

The reference to "spooky" was for those in parts of the world that don't have halloween, to give them something to shoot, since one aspect of Halloween is things that are "spooky".

Hopefully not everybody is voting on how "spooky" the picture is...

Anything to do with halloween fits the challenge, as well as anything spooky. Candy fits the challenge because thats what the kids get when they go trick or treating.

When my daughter came in from trick-or-treating and dumped her loot on the floor, I thought of this and suggested she take a photo of it for the Halloween challenge. Fortunately, she ignored me and took a photo that shows off her creativity a lot better...

This is my Halloween outtake, couldn't get it to look the way I wanted so I went and did something different, but thought I'd post and ask for some comments.

I don't think "gory" is necessarily a traditional aspect of either Hallowe'en or spookiness, except that the holiday has been largely hijacked by directors of slasher movies. You did execute goriness pretty effectively, though.

Maybe your actual entry will evoke eerieness ...

I was just thinking about all those stories I heard when I was growing up about weirdos putting razorblades or injecting rat poison into apples and giving them out at Halloween. My mom would throw out any apples or other non-tamper-resistant goody we got Trick-or-Treating. I suppose I will to when my boys are old enough to go out by themselves.

My actual entry is quite different or I would not have posted this one.

Well, bleeding lips might be more of a hazard. I never understood what was so hard about slicing up fruit before eating it anyway ... seems a shame to just waste it. Besides, you're not supposed to throw razor blades in the garbage or compost either -- your sanitation engineer would appreciate your using an approriate sharps container.

Anyway, like I said, I still thought it was a pretty effective if not pleasant photo -- would have gotten a pretty high score from me.
