Ok, so I am a dog man by nature... I am allergic to cats.

But why to the top three have to be felines?

I was thinkin the same thing! But the top three are amazing photographs with lots of personality and deserve to be there IMO. But admitedly, I am partial to dogs myself as well 8o)

It's all part of the Evil Cat Plan to take over the world!

Dogs dominated in the first Pet challenge, they've had their day.

Because it take longer than a week to get results from a lab. ;-P

Cats rule, dogs drool!

And they're tougher to shoot since they don't sit and stay on command. Maybe there was a bit more appreciation for that.

I just wish I would have entered my pretty calico cat. Maybe it would have scored better than my little puppy :(

But kudos to the 3 cat winners who have given beautiful cats their just reward! Those are about 3 of the most awesome kitty pictures I've ever seen in my life!

And Pixelstate's kitty is right up there with these wnners :)

GO CATS!!! :)

The sad truth is that dogs have become lazy in their ownership of humans, content to bark and lick to get attention while cats have been perfecting their mind-control techniques. These techniques are now so powerful that they transcend the photographic medium and all who gaze upon their eyes are swayed by their power.

Not my dog. He doesn't bark at anything, he is always right by my side, and he looks great in a business suit! hahaha

I think cats by their personalities would be much easier to photography than dongs. My dog does not sit still...whenever I get the camera out she goes nuts. (Like when I get her leash out to go for a walk.) I had to turn the sound off of the camera as well. I added 3 photos to my favorites from this challenge-great shots!

My dog tried to eat her head scarf half a dozen times until she finally just gave up and sat there.

really? I think cats are much much more stubbourn and tricky to get to do stuff. I was exhausted after my shoot. :-)

Cats rule - dogs drool - hahaha.

The ribbon shots are really outstanding - or maybe cats just are more picturesque... damn, I can't stop. I tried taking a photo of my black cat, but she would start writhing wildly every time I pointed a camera at her. Maybe I'll get a dog for the next pet challenge. At least the dog will do what I tell it. :op

I was very happy to see cats in the first places !!!

I think that it's more difficult to have a cat posing , I've tried with 4 of my cats , 3 were not very cooperative but Mitmit was acting like a true model , she's wonderful , I know that my photos don't make justice to her beauty..

I really have had fun .
Mademoiselle Mitmit , please look at mummy !
Mademoiselle Mitmit , now look at the window !
Now please sit ! You're wonderful and you know it !
Well , all was in french but she followed my instructions.

Same here - I have a bunch of crap images of my cat either walking to me or licking himself in various places. I lucked out big time with the only clean pose of 40+ shots.

I would have bet a million bucks that dogs would have taken all the top spots. Look like DPC has gotten in touch with it's feminine side...

Out take
