Just suggestion...

Challenge name: Direct daylight
Challenge description: Your challenge is to take a photo faceing the sun. Make sun and light a creative part of your picture.
Sunset/sunrise are not considered as daylight.

Few examples...

seems like for the past few challenges the sun has always played a roll in messing up my shots. So I am all for this idea.

Seems like a good idea. Don't understand why the 'sunrise/ sunset' bit is added though. Just seems to throw in opportunity for confusion (when does sunrise end/ sunset start)

Just have it as 'the sun must be in the frame, or obscured by something in the frame'

Is DPC ready to cover the medical lawsuits for retina damage ?

Does sound like fun. I wonder how many comments of "looks washed out" come up, lol.

Here's a old one I have that needs some noise reduction. It's not quite sunset yet but leading into it. Sun is clearly visible so I don't know well it works with the challenge description based on time of day.

Here's one with sun coming right into the trees but with the sun out of the picture. Doubt it would score well, but it is indicative of Daylight (taken at 2 pm in bright sun).

No sunset or sunrise because its easy to take them...and challenge will turn into sunset challenge. To get good picture with bright sun is much harder. :)

Would shooting directly into the sun cause any damage to your camera's sensor?

potentially, depending on how long you focus on it. Will also potentially damage your eyes too, depending on the magnification of the lens and focusing.

Yes they are - the sun is either up or down ;-)
