Numbers for the phone number are fake... just so you know :P

I think as far as looking professional, the image itself triggers the part of my brain that goes "wow! hes a pro!"... Then I look at what you do: Weddings; great! Commercial; sounds cool. Events; nice term I guess. skateboarding... Now I have plenty of skateboarder friends. But it may identify you with an unprofessional crowd. Perhaps "Sports" would fit better. I think thats my only problem, and it may turn off potential customers, like skeptical old people with bushy eyebrows.

Very cool and minimalist. Love it otherwise.

It looks very nice, but I wonder just how readable it is in REAL size? Have you printed one out yet?

not yet, gathering opinions first before I go waste all my black ink on my new printer, lol, but good point.

I would switch "skateboaring" out for "extreme sports", mostly because the syntax works better as none of the other genres feature an -ing ("wedding" doesn't count). That makes it really leap out as the first thing I see in that block. And I do think that "extreme sports" sounds more professional, not to mention a touch broader.

I think "Sports" or "Action/Sports" or something would give the idea, without boxing you in so tightly to a particular activity with a well-defined image.

What about using the term "Extreme Sports"? Or the lass ho-hum term 'adrenaline sports'? It seems a little, uhm, less limiting than just 'skateboarding". Did you want to ignore snowboarding, extreme skiing, rodeo, mountain bikes, slick rock bikes, dirt bikes, barefoot waterskiing, skeleton, skateboarding, rock climbing, basejumping, bouldering, zorbing, rollerball and street luge? To say nothing of all the other such addictive pastimes... but what do I know?

The word wedding reaches pretty far to the left, you might want to re-arrange the words and align them.

I don't get why you have a shot of a car stereo unit when advertising portraiture, weddings etc.

Web address will be added when I get it. Not really starting yet as I don't have an DSLR yet. I will get a site once I feel I can start to actually make money, which will be soon after I get my own camera. (A85 will not cut it!) lol.

Also advertising commercial photography, and after I do my first wedding in Oct, I will be making a seperate card for weddings.

I tried a couple different things with including more pictures, but it made the card look messy and unproffesional.

I would pick a niche - i dont know if people are going to feel you are an expert at what they want because you do everything! Lol. No matter how good you are...people need to perceive that you are the man they need - and it makes them feel better if you specialize in what they need.

sometimes, the best business card may be the simplest one.
Try a plain coloured card with nothing on it except the following words:

Cyler Parent Photography
(123)-456-7890
cyler@shaw.ca

Says car stereo installer or shop to me. when i see the photographer part i stop and try to make the conection...and can't.

of course, i have no images on my biz card. if they want to see images, i have a website, or they can use the phone number to call me and see my albums and prints.

Moved bottom text around to make it more even. Added some dynamics to the text, may be a little harder to read, we will see what the outcome is once I print this.

I am going to try doing a bunch of different ones, all for each of the types of photography. I am going to leave the info on them the same, and just change the layout and picture.

An inexpensive way to try them out is to gang-up three business cards on an ordinary 4x6 print, and cut them out yourself. Some people think it looks tacky, but I say if you're selling photographs then that's what you should give them as a sample.

Once you know which designs work the best you can always have a batch printed up by more traditional methods.
