I have been on a quest to re-edit some of my older photos because my post processing skills have develped considerably in the last few years. This is one of my all time favorite images and I think I like the new edit much better. I think it would be cool to see other people's as well.

What do you think?

Better. Really pops. I would tone down that patch of sunlight to the left of the tree. It is very strong and draws the eye away from the sunbeams.

Hmm... The image definitely seems to pop more now, but it feels a little oversaturated, and one or two of the lightbeams have been merged (probably from it being a brighter image overall). Perhaps halfway between the old and the new would work well?

EDIT: That being said, I'm looking at it via an uncalibrated monitor, so take what I say with a pinch of salt :o)

On the new version, the sunlight on the ground under the tree is a bit too much of a hot-spot and drags the eye down. I do like how the green pops so much more, and the light beams show up great on my screen. However, the dead branch behind the light beams in the top right corner sorta' bugs me.

Overall, great improvement!

Chuckle - while I hope I have improved by PP I am not sure I have anything I can reprocess without making it worse. Will have a look, though :-)

I aspire to deliver images as good as your old one. The new one is clearly so far beyond me! :-)
