Okay, forgive my ignorance on this subject, but does anyone know what causes the Exif data to be lost when editing with Photoshop? As best as I can tell at the moment, when I convert from RAW to a JPG in photoshop, the exif data for the images I'm working with seems to be lost. I'm not sure if this is the problem yet, but do you guys have any methods of saving the exif as you adjust and convert a picture and/or a method of getting the exif data attached to the image again?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Save for web will delete the EXIF, Save As retains it.

I've been using Save As, and some of my picture don't have the exif attached anymore. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm running PS 6 too. I'm a little behind in that regard.

When you use SaveAs Copy in PS 5 & 6 you should have a checkbox to "Exclude Non-Image Data" which will discard the EXIF. If it is present in a TIFF file it should remain in a JPEG when you SaveAs.

Nope, not seeing that checkbox. Also, I'm never using a Tiff. Just from Raw (NEF in this case) to jpg for the web.
