I was in an argument with a few people regarding my website. Apparently they have taken it upon themselves to sign my email address up with mailing lists so I get tons of junk mail. They used the name "dork" and others as the name. So far I have had to unsubscribe from 6 mailing lists.

I would like to let them know that their childish antics show exactly how immature they are to the rest of DPC. This respectful community of photographers is apparently infiltrated by grown men with 8 year old child complexes.

If you can't handle a little argument and deal with your feelings like an adult, I suggest you keep your mouth shut before you start opinionating.

I am guessing none of you will show your face in this thread like a respectful adult and own up to your fifth grade nonsense...we'll see.

This site has people from all walks of life and all ages. It is possible that some of the respected members on this site have fans amongst some younger members and sometimes young people do or say things that just don't work out well for everyone involved.

One thing I have learned over my 2 years of membership here is that we mostly get along with one another and treat eachother respectfully, even if an opinion we may have asked for "hurts" a little. We also take care of our own, from the exploits I have read about sites and people stealing the work of DPC members, in good standing, who then claim the DPC member's work as his or her own.

Sometimes, people go to far. That's just people.

Moved to Rant.
Open letter to any DPC members or users who may have participated in this. DPC does *not* condone this type of behavior. If a user has a problem with another user's behavior, to the effect that the user has violated site rules or the site terms of service, they should report the activity to the SC via the ticket system.
All users are expected to conduct themselves in a civil manner. While DPC cannot control anyone's behaoior outside the site, we do ask that users refrain from vigilantism. It reflects badly on the site.

I don't doubt what he is saying is true. Seen it to many times to think it's not true. The witch-hunt mentality is pretty out of control on this site.
specialK in a situation like this, it's better to just be quiet, do what you have to do to stop the spam, capture a log of who is doing it and send it to the admins. By staying quiet, you are not giving the immature members anything to gloat about. They just want attention, you know.
I feel like saying you brought this on yourself by being so argumentive, but.. no excuse for them to do that. Just bad behaviour, that's why I won't be a paying member after my membership expires in a few months. This place is getting a bad reputation for having so many hooligans on it.

I was defending the defamation of an 8 year old girl...apparently that is a crime around here.

Everytime someone makes a sarcastic or immature comment and I respond to it, it's all my fault.

Let's not forget the point of this thread...to point out that someone on DPC is signing up my email address with mailing list websites. Don't come into this thread and start bashing me...this is about their actions, not mine.

I'm confused..You are saying the people who offered you constructive criticism which you asked for and rejected, are the people who signed you up for spamming? Reading that thread, no one was arguing - they offered opinions which YOU asked for. How do you KNOW these people did what you are accusing them of?

I was making a point about your first sentence, you pointed out one thread, and to me it seems like more than one occasion you get into an argument..

I was stating constructively why I thought their opinions were off base...and this comment comes in...bashing and trashing and attacking...of course this sets me off.

The only way this turns into a pissing match is when people come in and accuse me of falsely accusing people.

Look...after the thread was closed I went out and came back...5 mailing list sign up thank you's were in my photography website inbox. The names used to sign up were "dork" and the like...I won't elaborate any further.

Did this just magically happen? Did I do it in my sleep? We don't need a jury here, just the people that did it to apologize and we can end it.
