I noticed the "kids" are having a contest and you can't be over 21 to enter(unless you turn 22 during the contest). Is there a contest out there for old farts? LOL! Here's my ideas:

1) Old fart with the most age spots (must submit proof in a photo)...
2) Old fart who writes the best article on how to keep your meds organized...
3) Old fart who can stay awake the latest (that would be a hard one with old farts all over earth on here)

Okay, that's three ideas. Does any other 50+ person have any ideas he/she'd like to share. Prizes might be a vat of Porcelana for the women and maybe Rogaine for the guys, or wait ... how about Depends - that's a unisex prize!

I guess the "young uns" contest grabbed my attention only because the organizer said they were all out on winter break and had time to spare. I'm off for winter break as well with time to spare(working in the field of education).

Anyone?

oh yeah - and is it fair to allow people to enter if they turn 50 during the contest? I guess that's sad enough that we could take pity on him/her and make that exception!

Good idea! But hey, you're too f-ing young for THIS contest - LOL. Are you just too used to making fun of your dad (or mom) for sawing logs during the late news? Apparently there's no contest for your age group...

1) Old fart who shows most skin (on top of skull)
2) Nicest shade of silver (hair)
3) Best imitation of a Shar-Pei (wrinkle dog)

I'm in the running for at least two..

MattO is the same age as my youngest. Should I send him to his room for you?
My god, I can't believe I admitted that. This thread is causing me major depression. I think I'll go take a nap.

Oh please do (send him straight to his room, not take a nap!)

Me too! I used to be proud of the hair. People would ask if I did the silver streak purposely. Unfortunately it's starting to fill in now, so now I just hang my head down in shame. Hey though, once I decided to color my hair a nice auburn. The auburn was fine, the silver streak turned neon pink - seriously. My daughters were rolling on the floor laughing and said I could NOT go to work like that!

The kids are having a contest? Did I miss something?

One good thing about sending me to my room at this age, there is something in there for me to enjoy. Now you have to explain to my wife why she has to go there as well!!!!

stare_at_the_sun is hosting the contest (as if he's not popular enough in the username challenge! LOL!

Okay, I'm too old to learn a new trick (or am I) on how to insert the link to that forum.

Someone want to train me please?

LOL! Better keep a cap/hat on that head! Bald is quite sexy IMHO. Just NO COMB-OVERS! I just don't get that at all.

Hold your head high with pride....we've earned every silver hair on our heads. You want pink streaks......go for it!!!

I want longer arms, so I can read the fine print w/out glasses. Then, I'll be able to read the rules/conditions of the photo competition you suss out for us :))

Thanks! See if I wait long enough someone will come along and walk me across the street!

Hey Sue, sort of know what you mean. My damn eyes are not synchronized in the least. If I close one I have to hold print at arms' length. If I close the other, I have to bring print in close. This is not a winning battle. Usually tilt my head either to the left or right to read.

But the hair, yeah, you're right.

i think it would only be fair for us ancient beings to have our own challenge ;)
12/26/2005 06:36:25 PM · #19
Yeah, I just don't really want to host it myself. (I guess I'm just jealous of the "kids.") Hey, I know - maybe we can talk SC into hosting it! Any SC online??? It would be cool to have an age groups challenge (at least I think it would be fun).
12/26/2005 06:37:31 PM · #20
I do too :)
ooooooooooooooooo we shoud get one of the kids to host it :rofl

LMAO. Maybe MattO can post our link to stare_at_the_sun's forum!! They'll be rolling their eyes for sure.

I do spy (SC) Kirbic online. But I think he's ignoring us.

Quick someone say something shocking, dirty, beligerent, derogatory and downright nasty and he'll come in here and threaten to lock this thread!!! LOL. Then we'll have his attention!

I'm still waiting for another old fart to join in, cuz he's actually pretty ancient.... Where's Bear? ...LOL

Now, I think this is a great idea. Just us (er) old folks. Experience can come in handy.

But ya gotta be careful!
Some of our juniors aready treat us like retarded children.
(NOT, I'm glad to see, DPCers.)

ROFLMAO! You're right; I saw him out there too. He's definitely ignoring us as well. He usually has his two cents worth to say. Ahem ... Robt you alive????
