I just want to say first thanks to all of those who voted on my salt photo HERE. It was my first entry to this contest and I placed halfway. For a first timer I think that is pretty good.

However, there were quite a few comments that questioned the content or the way it was taken. I would like to clarify for those people please. The photo was taken with my D60 and the MP65 1-5x macro lens. This is a very special lens that usually only allows a few mm of dof at best. The subject was ordinary table salt, not large grains. Table salt grains are about 1mm or less, so you can see how this would have been difficult to shoot. I tried going straight down for maximum dof, but then it didn't give it any shape so I went with sideways. Yes, it is extremely macro, but it was not taken with any microscope or such.

Just wanted to clarify.
