For what it's worth, I'm getting 'where is the liquid' comments too. :-> I knew there was going to be some of that, given that my liquid is somewhat viscous (no, I'm not going to say color or anything else like it - vote it how you see it, I'm not fishing). On the other hand, it was 11PM Tuesday night, and I finally got an idea of *something* I could shoot, so I shot it and submitted it. :->

Someone waid they couldn't see liquid in mine, which is completely baffling as it's the focus of the picture.
It's obviously not water.
Ah well...

Edit: Ooops, I'm logged in as my wife! That comment should have come from BobsterLobster...

when i viewed all the entries, i guess all the entries meet the challenge requirement. besides, the theme specified NOT to use WATER...in the first place why should i submit an entry with water if its not allowed.

ah well...

At least you have comments. My shot is pathetically low, yet no one has told me why. :-(

Such is life. I still like my shot, and I think it is cool.

My photo started out well but has seemed to kind of fall since. Lots of votes but only 2 messages. I think it's due to so many people using the same idea, but with no responses it makes things hard to learn from.

Just fyi: I went through and did a bunch of voting last night, partially so I could see all the entries. I plan to go back and comment on some of the photos in the next few days, when I have more time to devote to each one.

My score is fluctuating wildly so I'm going to stop looking at it for a while. :)

Even though the description is on the upload page, not everyone reads it. Stating that the pic shouldn't contain water doesn't mean that noone did. I saw several pics that didn't have a liquid as the subject... or if they did then I certainly don't get it.

My Liquid is doing the worst since I have been on the site. Hoping for at least one comment ...

I think part of the problem is the general crappiness of these submissions. I've given lots of 9s and 10s, but LOTS OF 3s and 4s - much much more than normal. I think this IS the worst set of shots I've seen from dpc in quite some time - what happened to all of our creativity?

I've had problems with the "water" comments too. I guess some people have a very broad interpretation of what water is, of course there's water in pretty much every liquid, and most solids too? But just 'cause it's clear or wet doesn't mean it's "water", water-based maybe, but not plain old water.

No, but if it's clear and wet and there's no other context the voter has a problem being sure it's not water. It might be nice to give people the benefit of the doubt except there are always off-topic pictures, so how do you decide?

Are these entries way below par or am I just in a bad mood? Should I wait till later to vote?

Hey, with my halfway decent shot (if I may say so myself ;-> ) for the first time in weeks, I have a chance to place near the top of the heep for once! So, grumpy voters vote away!!! (Just kidding, of course)
